Lake Trahlyta Trail - Blairsville, GA
Start: Vogel State Park
Location: Blairsville, Georgia
Distance: 1 mile loop
Difficulty: Easy
Dog Friendly: Yes
The trailhead for Lake Trahlyta Trail is located near the Visitor's Center of Vogel State Park. This well maintained one mile loop is flat and ideal for a family hike. A family favorite growing up was camping within the campground at Vogel State Park. It is absolutely beautiful. If you are up for a longer hike, you can walk from the campground to the trailhead.
There are several lake views along this hike. Lake Trahlyta is a beauty. You can also see Blood Mountain and Slaughter Mountain from this trail on a clear day.
When you reach the halfway mark (seen above), there is a side trail down to Trahlyta Falls. The trail to the falls is short but it is steep and not stroller friendly. If you can make the descent, the view at the bottom is worth it.
Just above the trail to the falls is a bench where you can take a break. This is often necessary when you are have the kiddos in tow. Take a breather and enjoy the views of Lake Trahlyta. You will love this hike.
